TypeScript wasn’t a part of Angular until version 2, which was released in May 2016. The gold-standard of developing single page applications (SPAs), the original Angular or AngularJS was released eight years and was based on JavaScript. Since losing the ‘JS’ moniker, Angular has witnessed more than 7 versions and has shifted to ‘Active’ and LTS support cycle consisting of 6 months and 18 months respectively. Consequently, a new version is released every six months and every version is LTS since Angular 4.
