All of us are capable of being a philanthropist. We can give of ourselves. Alvin Thien has learned the art of accommodating and settling for a lifestyle that permits us not to just immerse ourselves in the pursuit for financial stability but to fully grasp and cherish the reality that there are less privileged individuals and communities out there. Those who are in dire need, who will find that little token a great blessing, should nudge us all to embrace philanthropy. Being philanthropic like Alvin Thien is having empathy for the welfare and well being of our neighbors and should basically be a way of life for every one of us. Philanthropy focuses on obliterating the social ills in the community. The world doesn’t need a miracle, it just needs every one of us. If the world doesn’t watch out for its own, what will it become?
