I wanted to create something informative about modern wedding traditions and so I gathered together a nice varied mix of nationalities that have very different traditions. This infographic takes you from the heart of the modern day Maasi culture where a bride is bought and sold for cattle and the wedding meal is not something we would consider appealing, to the snowy wastelands of the Inuits and back to China where 7UP is the drink of choice.

Some traditions would seem pretty normal to us in the west, such as the wedding cake, the dress and the groom’s speech.. but what makes these normal and other traditions less so, see what you think.
