Unusual Watches Series (Part 1)

The Midnight Planétarium watch depicts the exact real-time movement of planets around the sun.

The dial features the sun and six planets – Earth, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter & Saturn while the shooting star is the time indicator.

Each planet moves on its own disc according to its real-life rotation time. So if you use a telescope to view the planets, the planets on the dial will be arranged in exactly the same way as they appear in space. Its like having the solar system on your wrist.

Made by Van Cleef & Arpels with the help of the foremost astronomical horologer, Christiaan Van Der Klaauw, the Midnight Planétarium contains 396 parts, took almost 3 years to develop and retails for USD $245,000.
