Viking Trail Road Trip

This infographics describes Viking Trail road trip, one of the most scenic in Canada.

Here are a several sights that definitely worth visiting on it:

Western Brook Pond is a part of the Long Range Mountains, and also the most northern part of the Appalachian Mountains. Glaciers carved out the area thousands of years ago, leaving behind hanging valleys and serrated cliffs. When the depressed land bounded back from the glacier, the pond was cut off from the ocean.

Tha Tablelands Trail is a good starting point for exploration of Gros Morne national Park. Geology here marks a time when the continents of Africa and North America collided, pushing these rocks, originally beneath the ocean, to their present position on land.

L’Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the only authenticated Norse site in North America. At the Viking Encampment, you can try blacksmithing or weaving, and talk to characters who will bring the Viking history to life.

The route is suited to you if you like driving, history and hiking. Take at least 4 days to pass it from June to September.
